One of the great aspects of being in a new home is exploring the neighborhood. Thanks to all the street repairs and closures on Avenida Alemán, our Uber driver took us a different route this afternoon and we discovered this restaurant just five blocks from our house. After several less than stellar experiences with Yucatecan cuisine, including at the revered La Chaya Maya, Restaurant Las Yuyas has completely won me over. It is elegant and superb in every way - beautiful decor, attentive service and superb traditional Yucatecan food. We stuck with the most traditional dishes - panuchos, cochinita pibil and poc-chuc - and everything was incredible, including the well-priced cocktails. This could be our second kitchen while our home renovations are going on. Can't wait to take friends there! Viva Yucatan!
