This place was hands-down the best food we tried in our three week adventure in Mexico. I got the shrimp ceviche and the pan fried fish, it was absolutely outstanding!! I would highly recommend this place to anyone!
I've lived in Mérida for three weeks and this is my favorite place in the city! The ambiance is phenomenal and the food is the freshest I've found. Chef Amanda will create a very generous portion of traditional food customized to your liking.
My favorite place to eat breakfast and lunch in Mérida! Hands down the BEST chilaquiles and mole I've ever had! We let Amanda know we were vegan and she always created a special dish and experience for us. So delicious that we made it a point to come here as many times as we could while we were in town.
i've eaten at Ki'ool several times and I really like it. It's a nice atmosphere, the chef is more than attentive, the prices are good, and there's a wide variety of food; always something outside the usual fare. It's right next to the park so you can do your other errands there as well, and there's also a spa where you can get treat yourself to a massage. The new proprietor has done a lot in that space, and I think it's a great addition to the area.

Found Ki'ool on our 3rd day visiting Merida. Quite delighted that we found it so early in our trip. Chef Amanda served us Fish Tacos with fresh pineapple, and an amazing Shrimp Ceviche. We plan to eat our way through the whole delicious menu before the end of our trip. Such a treasure of a restaurant to have in our little neighbourhood.

I dropped in to K'ool today for lunch and wish I had tried it earlier. Had red snapper with rice and salad and it was delicious. Will be back this weekend for cerviche. So fortunate to have this restaurant in my neighbourhood.

Ki’ool - A hidden gem in Colonia Santiago
Just off the Parque de Santiago on Calle 59 x 72 y 74 n’ 572 hides an oasis nestled in the rear courtyard of Casa Catherwood. Returning home defeated, hot and frazzled after an unsuccessful and chaotic lunch search for Wayanes Tacos on the other side of town; we were delighted to stumble across Ki’ool still open at 3 pm well into the Siesta. The filtered light through the shading palms had a soothing effect as so did the wall fountain of the small and intimate courtyard. Serving breakfast and lunch till 4pm ( closed for dinner ) along with a selection of aqua fresca, coffee and chocolate drinks; owner / chef Amanda Aragon is serving up some of the freshest fair in town ! And not in dainty proportions I might add. Our order of black bean tostadas came with four to an order ! Even further still into the rear of the Casa Catherwood lies another surprising miniature courtyard with a private adjoining massage and therapy room. Be sure to inquire about services as the two businesses are connected. We look forward to coming back here to sample breakfast and coffee with a visit upstairs to the exhibition of the engravings by Mr. Catherwood done for “Incidents of Travel in Yucatan” 1843 by John L. Stephens. A must read for the enlightened traveler of the Yucatan !
We ate a wonderful lunch there. They have specials each day but the chef offers to cook other dishes for you to try. The deserts and the freshly made juices are delicious. We are definitely going back for breakfast. What a delightful addition to Plaza Santigo.
