Great place and very friendly staff who even spoke to us about what we should do while we are on the island. The food is delicious, fresh, and comes out quickly. An absolute must visit if you visit Isla Mujeres!
Everything was delicious! We had the chicken tacos, pork tacos and poblano tacos and they were all amazing! The flavor was bursting with each bite! The homemade salsa picante is fabulous! The vibe is awesome and the owners are awesome! The love and passion they have for their food is evident! Put this on your list!
This is the cutest place to get tacos any time of day. Ricardo and Claudia are excellent hosts with big hearts and a lot of knowledge about Isla - but most importantly, a lot of knowledge about TACOS! And Torito. But we’ll get to that. Their menu has six kinds of tacos that are guisado, or stew, style. There’s even a veggie option. All of them are served on handmade tortillas and are 25 pesos each. All the recipes are passed down through their families and are INCREDIBLY GOOD. Your meal starts with a small cup of charro beans and ends with a shot of Torito or fermented sugar cane liquor that is famous from Veracruz and made in house. The variety of Torito found at El Torito is peanut and it’s awesome. Like a shot of Baileys but better. Just go check it out if you like friendly people, great food and trying things from other parts of Mexico.
Amazing homemade tortillas! The beef taco is one of the best I ever had! Get the hibiscus water...so refreshing. The owner was super sweet and accommodating. Food came out very fast too!
This place is just off the beaten path. The owner's are kind and the food is amazing! I enjoyed the company of the iguanas on the wall too.
Food and Drink were great! The chicken, beef, and mole tacos were my wife's and my favorites! We went to Cancun with one desire: to find a local taco shop with great tacos and we found it here on Isla Mujeres!
The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about the product and helpful to teach us about what goes into making their tacos and liquor.
The setting was also super awesome! We loved that they used simple materials (pallets and cinder blocks) to make an awesome setting.
If we find ourselves on the island again, we'll definitely be back!
I do not eat meat but the tacos that I had were so good. I had to get another one and another one. But then I’ve been a fan of Ricardo for a long long time. He is always been so kind and friendly and sweet and now he has a partner to match all the beauty.

Wonderful new place for tacos! Very different from “street tacos”. The flavors are unique and delicious! Fabulous new addition for Isla! The charro beans were amazing! Try the Torito! YUMMY
Loco Bueno! Ricardo and Claudia have worked hard and El Torito is a "hidden gem" right there in Centro... It's the food that he grew up with his mom cooking for him and I'm sure she'd be proud!
My husband and I cannot get enough of these DELICIOUS tacos! So fresh, so good! Ricardo is a charm! GREAT addition to our island.
