The closest thing I ever had to a complaint about this place is the fact that I couldnt finish the portions half the time. If you need a break from traditional mexican, this is your jam. The chef is always coming up with something, sometimes a twist on local cuisine, sometimes something international with absurdly fresh local ingredients. My first time, he was telling us how he made something like an ancho but with coffee for the sauce on the fish. I'm still not sure what he was talking about, but the passion behind it made me order it, and I was so impressed that Casa Babel became my new lunch place for the rest of the time I lived in San Andreas. Now, they do great "cuisine" and I hate to detract from that, but its also the place you will get great burgers in Cholula, Andreas or Pedro. I like burgers, but their gourmet burgers were nearly impossible to finish (and I can barely say the words "to go box"). We tried a bunch, but the blue cheese was life changing, and I dont even like blue cheese. I guess what I'm saying is, if you like great food for a good price and friendly staff, this is the place for you. If you don't, there's a McDonalds on Cinco. I never spent a peso and regretted it at Casa Babel. Oh, and the dog's name is Gorda,
